Dedication Ceremony on the new Aquafarm site

BIAC held the official dedication ceremonies for the 40-acre Aquafarm site at the HOST Park on Keahole Point. The event was attended by Hawaiian Governor Ben Cayetano, Big Island Mayor Stephen Yamashiro and Hawaiian Senator Lorraine Inouye.

Nearly 100 people attended the dedication.   Chairman Steve Brandt welcomes guests to the ceremony.   Kahu Wendell Davis leads a prayer as part of the dedication.
   
Hawaiian Governor Benjamin Cayetano described the state's unique resources for participating in the worldwide aquaculture boom.   Chairman Steve Brandt introduces Kahu Wendell Davis.   HOST Park Chairman Tom Whittemore provided a brief history of the Park and facilities.
   
Stephen Yashimiro, Mayor of the Big Island of Hawaii, outlined the importance of innovation to the island community.   H.O.S.T. Park Executive Director Jim Frazier explained how the new 55" deep-sea pipe (3000' deep) will serve the Park.   Hawaii Senator Lorraine Inouye spoke of the importance of risk taking for both companies and government.
